Top 5 Healthy Habits of Successful People

Have you ever walked into a meeting and the person looked like they couldn’t be bothered to be there? Heavy sighing, heavy hand motions, every sign that showed they were in no mood to give you a minute of their time? Would you work with them again? Chances are, you’d find someone with a better positive mental attitude and someone who actually enjoys what they’re doing. In other words, someone great at their job.

The benefits of having a positive outlook stem from having healthy habits. Only the most successful people take the time to implement healthy habits into their daily routine. They know this will not only make them a more capable professional, allowing them to work smarter and close more deals, but it will also make them enjoyable to be around. No one wants to work with someone who doesn’t take care of themselves. That’s why I’ve taken the time to describe just five daily habits you should start implementing into your day for positive results.

  1. Meditate
    1. Start your day with meditation. Taking time to yourself is a vital component to maintaining a healthy mindset. By starting your day with personal meditation time, you not only slow your mind down from the rushing thoughts that intrude throughout the day, but you begin your work day with clarity. You’re able to work with fewer distractions and maintain focus with your business partners, clients, and family. Mental clarity is an advantage that entrepreneurs, CEOs, and executives all take full pride and effort in, and there’s good reason for that.
  2. Exercise
    1. Morning exercise and a meditation routine work hand in hand to make you a powerful, productive force. Your energy won’t be depleted by working out in the morning; in fact, it will increase as your metabolism gets the boost it needs, and your day will start with a more active mentality. This reads well to clients as you’ll look and feel healthier. First impressions are vital! Make sure you’re putting your best foot forward to achieve maximum physical health so you can work better for you, your co-workers, and your clients/prospects!
  3. Schedule your day efficiently
    1. Make the most out of your time. Schedule your meetings, phone calls, even family time to ensure you’re optimizing your day as efficiently as possible. This goes back to my motto of WORK SMARTER, NOT HARDER—once you take control of where your time is going, you can give time to things that need your attention the most. Maintain your focus and expand on the possibilities of what you can accomplish in your day just by efficient scheduling. Do what matters!
  1. Healthy Nutrition Habits
    1. Eating quality, fresh food is vital to maintaining a healthy mind and healthy body. Don’t stunt your health with processed food! Fresh vegetables and fruits supply the body with much-needed nutrients and natural sugars to maintain optimal function throughout the day. Your diet can either keep you sluggish or keep you active. The choice is yours.
  2. Get Quality Sleep
    1. All these tips seem like no-brainers, don’t they? You’d be inclined to think that, but people in positions of power tend to get less sleep than they need. Sleep deprivation slows down a person’s reaction time and critical thinking ability. When you are sleep deprived, you’ll look physically exhausted, your voice will be monotone and flat, and your body language will speak volumes—negative volumes. Your work quality suffers, and so does your staff, and anyone with whom you come in contact during the day. It’s important that you get the exact same amount of sleep every night, whether that’s 6 hours or 8 hours for you, so your brain knows when it’s time to shut down and restart. Go to sleep early, wake up early, meditate.

Healthy habits and a positive mental attitude are all qualities the most successful people in the world possess. It’s something C-level executives and entrepreneurs have in common. If they could not master their time, their stress, and their attitude toward others, there is no chance they would be in the position they’re in today. Not every day will be the best day—that is a fact—but the more you can do to nullify the power of those bad days, the more successful you’ll be in your sales career. People will want to be around you, do business with you, recommend you to others, and you’ll enjoy every aspect of your day. There’s no reason not to start now!
